Valoppe was born from a great love for design and the desire to add something new to it. However, our work and our products should never come at the expense of nature. Proving that it is possible to make high-end furniture of the highest quality with respect for our environment is a fundamental part of our mission and one of Valoppe's core values.

Our current efforts.
Here are 9 ways we have already integrated in our everyday operations that contribute to a more sustainable method of offering luxury furniture.
01
We plant trees.
With every purchase of a wooden furniture we donate a tree and give it to you and nature. In this way we let nature grow instead of burdening it.
02
Your piece is
made locally by craftsmen.
We produce your furniture in The Netherlands. Producing close to our largest market means we minimise transport of materials and furniture.
03
Our furniture is costly.
Fast-furniture with cheap, replaceable furniture has a major impact on our environment. We consciously choose to create durable, costly and high-quality furniture to promote longevity and residual value.
04
Specially made for you.
Valoppe does not produce stock that needs to be transported and stored. Each piece of furniture is made especially for its new owner.
05
All our wood is FSC-certified.
The wood we use for our furniture always comes from forests that are managed sustainably, under the supervision of the Forest Stewardship Council.
06
Solid wood.
We use solid wood as much as possible, because it's durable and easy to recycle, unlike some processed types of wood.
07
renewable energy.
Our office only uses 100% renewable energy.
The workplace where our artisans build your furniture runs on solar power for a significant part of their energy requirements.
08
Valoppe makes your garden bloom.
You will receive a thank you card with additional information about your purchase. The card is made of seed paper with flower seeds. Plant it in your garden and watch your local nature flourish through your purchase.
09
No excess packaging material
Your purchase will be securely packaged, but we don't waste material on a large cardboard box with our logo on it, for you to then throw it out.
We care about nature, And people.

We make sure that everybody involved in creating Valoppe furniture receives a decent wage. Valoppe should never come at an expense of nature or people.
Decent wages.
What we focus on.
The United Nations has established 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Valoppe wants to do more than its bit to contribute to these goals and has the ambition to become one of the brands that change and transform the industry through sustainable business practices. We ensure decent wages and working conditions for our employees and suppliers, sustainable production and are determined to combat overconsumption and waste. In addition, we try to give back to nature more than we use with every piece of furniture.

What we can improve on.
Transportation.
The transport of raw materials and our furniture is not yet entirely powered by renewable energy. We try to influence the innovative power and sustainability of our transport partners, but we can still do beter here.
Emails.
Sending emails to keep you informed of all the news in the world of Valoppe requires energy. The partners we work with to bring you this news cannot yet guarantee that they only use renewable energy. We can improve on this.

Sustainable by design.
Since sustainability is at the heart of our brand, it's also at the heart of our designs. In the design process of every piece we make, we don't only consider the esthetics, the functionality and the luxurious materials.
We also take in to account ways in which our artisans can use less of nature's resources and ways to ensure lifelong durability.
A piece you can someday pass on to your children is a piece that doesn't need replacing.
We are happy to explain how we deal with responsible entrepreneurship, how we even strengthen nature, but also where we can still improve.
